The second edition of Ghana Agribusiness Excellence and Leadership Awards 2019 has been launched in Accra. This year’s excellence award is to acknowledge and appreciate the deserving player actors in the Agric value chain.
The CEO of the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana, Farmer Anthony Morrison told AgricToday that this year’s excellence and leadership awards would not only recognize the local industries but some international leading companies and personalities whose role have supported the development of the Agribusiness not only in Ghana but on the continental platform.
The farmer said that last year’s award was towards the outstanding individual performance role in the industry, whilst this year would be based on best performance criteria by both local and international individuals and the organizations.
According to him, about thirty (30) plaque categories would be given to the deserving sector players. He stated that four hundred (400) stakeholders are expected to take part in this year’s excellence and leadership awards.
He urged all industries and organizations both locally and the internationally to rally behind this year’s awards to appreciate our able and cherish farmers.
The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), as a technical partner to the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana, would technically do the selection of the award winners. ‘AFAP would be partnering in taking the leadership role in this awards by doing the technical selection and profiling each of the award winners in all the categories which would go through the voting process’, the country program manager, AFAP, Aisha Mohammad said.
She espoused the support for the awards by assisting in bringing sponsors and donors to help make this year’s awards successful.
The Agribusiness Excellence and Leadership Awards 2019 would be held on 29th November 2019 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
