The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana has partnered with Africa Council for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture to further strengthen market position in agriculture.
The MoU seeks to focus on Training, Accreditation, and Certification for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture (OSA), for vegetables, fruits, nuts cereals, and grains with the option to include livestock and fishery.
The content of the MoU outlines that the partnership of both organizations is expected to result in greater effectiveness and a significant increase in market shares of Ghana’s smallholder farmers in the domestic and global market and provide various virtual platforms to support the agenda.
The association would harness market difficulties faced by the smallholder farmers by acquiring supply chain market places/ yards in various locations spread over Ghana. Moreover, it would develop a market structure for products from beneficiaries under the Organic and Sustainable Agriculture (OSA) AND training programmes.
To promote the exportation of agriculture products, the MOU seeks to create awareness of accreditation, and a process for certification to be accepted globally under the brand name ‘Select Africa’.
The Africa Council for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture serves as the Knowledge Partner in the MoU whilst the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana is the Executing Partner.
