Marian Ofori Twumasi, the CEO Mariseth Farms, has received the distinction of National Best Youth Farmer in December 2021.

This is her third prestigious award, after being named Best Oil Palm Farmer for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality in 2019 and receiving the Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s 2020 runner-up Certificate of Merit for outstanding contributions to the development of agriculture in Ghana.

The farm, founded in 2016 and located in Ghana’s Western North region, a women-led Mariseth produces predominantly oil palm, maize, cocoa, rice, and plantain.

Contracts with six major buyers have allowed Mariseth to expand rapidly, become profitable, and create job opportunities, notably for women and youth in the region.

Pangea Global Ventures, a US-based connector of impact investors and West African capital seekers in the agricultural sector, extolled its client company Mariseth Farms for receiving such distinction National award.

“We at Pangea Global Ventures and our Ghanaian sister company Pangea Africa congratulate Marian on her tremendous achievement. She truly deserves this public recognition for the vision, leadership, and energy she brings to her role. Her ability to make innovative decisions and implement them decisively with the help of her team is an inspiration for West-African agribusinesses anywhere, especially women-led ones,” commented John Scicchitano, Founder, and President of Pangea Global Ventures.

“It also demonstrates why our firm belief in the capabilities of West-African agri-SMEs on their nations’ way to self-sufficiency is well-placed.”

“I am honoured to win this distinction, as it shows me that we are on the right track. But we at Mariseth are not slowing down. On the contrary, we have great plans for 2022. These include the expansion of our oil palm cultivation due to continued and growing market demand. We are also seeking to construct a storage tank facility to aggregate and preserve crude palm oil for year-round sales, and to establish a palm fruit processing facility to service our own and surrounding farms’ production. We are looking forward to collaborating with Pangea on identifying investors who will support our ambitious growth plans,” said Marian Ofori Twumasi.

Mariseth Farms currently employs about 100 workers; cultivates 300 acres of oil palm and 40 acres of cocoa farm, and has 100 livestock.
