A letter was issued by the AG. Executive Secretary, James E.K. Dadson of the Land Commission has indicated that the Nungua Farmland which is the hub for research of the Animal Science Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has been taken for redevelopment.

The letter received by the ministry on 25th April 2022 with the heading RE: PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE REDEVELOPMENT SCHEME-GIFFARD ROAD SITE FOR AGRIC MECHANISATION directed the ministry to relocate some structures and equipment within the area zoned for redevelopment.

“Upon a review of the ground situation by the Land Commission to ensure optimum use and utilization of the remaining land within the area, it has become necessary for a comprehensive redevelopment scheme to be prepared for the area. You are required to remove your remaining structures to be relocated from the subject area”, the letter reads.

Letter sent by the Land Commission to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to relocate Nungua Farms.

Land Commission is therefore directing the Ministry to relocate the Nungua Farm to the Amrahia Dairy Farms, a sandwiched between the La-Nkwantanang Madina and Adenta Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

Already, the site is under destruction by the Commission for the supposed redevelopment at the farm site. All eyes should watch if indeed the land would be used as it has been stated in the letter by the Land Commission.
